If we compare our everyday reality versus what we see on Social Media, it would appear that everyone has the most fun, professional, life ever - And the rest of us work a standard job. But in reality, it is the other way around; Social Media tends to show the "blue skies" of everyone's day-to-day lives - causing more and more people to get frustrated about their daily routine.

So, the goal of this article is to bring you some ideas to improve your mood and increase your productivity at work.

Change your attitude

Sometimes we find ourselves viewing our day as a list of assignments to do. If instead, we look at our position as if it were our own small business, we could strengthen the sense of belonging and add value to our daily work. Make a report just because I have to; Or better, run a good report because that way I collect valuable information for the business where I work? Small changes in mindset can make big differences.

Quality vs Quantity

Many times, we believe that being efficient implies completing assigned tasks quickly when the reality is that it is much better for a company if the job is well done than wasting time correcting errors that could have been avoided by being more detailed in terms of quality. We think that multitasking is a skill, but the truth is that it gets in the way of being productive.

Treat yourself

Did your workday start off on the wrong foot? Do you have a long day ahead or did you wake up tired? While some things are not always in your control, you can create even little habits to put a positive note on your day. A clean desk with a nice wallpaper, good tools to work with, a cozy chair, good coffee, or tasty tea; are some examples of simple details that can help make the workday much more pleasant and positive.

Shift your outlook

Welcome new challenges at work. Interact with people from other teams. Learn something new about the sector in which you work. Ask questions and ask a colleague for feedback about your work. Sometimes giving a little twist to the way you see things can help you change your day-to-day vision, promote good communication between colleagues, and fuel growth.

Track your progress

Track your progress toward goals. Write it down or acknowledge it in some way so that when you feel like you're not accomplishing anything, you can go back and see that you are. Motivation must be constantly cultivated and seeing how you have achieved the proposed goals can be a great push towards this.

Be Consistent

It is much more valuable in the long term to change some things and implement them constantly than to try to change many things and give up halfway. Choosing simple, clear, and trackable goals is the best way to stay consistent. Be encouraged to make small changes to your daily routine to reap big rewards in the long run.

Take action

Look for opportunities to make positive, optimistic, and practical recommendations to management on how things can improve. Collaborate on the change you want to see. If your suggestions are adopted, and even if they aren’t, you’ll know you’re someone who works toward creating a positive work environment.

Choosing to be grateful, nurturing commitment, acting when things aren't going well, and transforming your perspective are some of the things you can start doing today. Success in your career depends on you
